AWARERNESS AND OUTREACH

Confident Clover

Confidant Clover, an organisation dedicated to the regulation of emotions and the enhancement of mental health, has collaborated with Miss Bushra Allahwala and our students at Ujala to conduct a series of insightful art therapy sessions. These sessions have proven to be a meaningful and creative journey towards understanding and nurturing emotional well-being. During these sessions, our students had the opportunity to explore and express their feelings through art, using a myriad of colours and engaging with various textures of leaves. They also created representations of their emotions on balloons, symbolising the idea of releasing and letting go. Through these artistic activities, we have fostered an environment that encourages emotional growth and self-expression, and we are grateful to Confidant Clover for their valuable contributions to our mission of promoting mental health and well-being.

First Response Initiative Pakistan

We had the honour of receiving a devoted group of persons from the First Response Initiative of Pakistan (Frip) who came to educate our workers on essential life-saving skills at Ujala. This collaboration was a huge step forward in our continuous dedication to safety and readiness. The Frip team held an instructive seminar at Ujala, where they conveyed essential information on how to properly respond in the face of accidents or emergency circumstances. Our employees were trained to take rapid, life-saving actions such as analysing the situation, contacting emergency services for assistance, and performing CPR as needed. This vital training gives our staff the knowledge and confidence to make a difference in crucial situations, protecting the safety and well-being of people around us.

IOBM

IOBM students recently visited Ujala and had a wonderful time in our garden. They enthusiastically collaborated in a gardening activity, nurturing and growing plants together. This engaging and interactive session not only provided a delightful experience but also fostered a sense of community and environmental stewardship among the students. We appreciate IOBM's participation in our efforts to promote environmental awareness and the joys of gardening.

Kiran Foundation

The Ujala Winter Carnival was a heartwarming event that brought together students from the Kiran Foundation for a day of fun, inclusion, and awareness. With a vibrant array of games, arts and crafts activities, and delicious snacks, the carnival provided an opportunity for all students to bond, irrespective of their abilities. The highlight of the event was the heartwarming gift exchange, which symbolised the spirit of unity and companionship among these young individuals. By organising this carnival, we aimed to shed light on the incredible abilities and talents of children with disabilities, promoting a more inclusive and understanding community for all. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and the celebration of diversity.

Nuero Diversity

We promote neurodiversity and provide a safe, inclusive atmosphere at Ujala. A group of dedicated psychologists led a training on safe and dangerous contact, a critical part of child protection. Our team learned a lot from this training to safeguard and support our children. In addition to these instructive workshops, the team taught special needs youngsters classroom management methods. These tactics are crucial to providing each kid with tailored educational help.

Our educators also participated in art therapy because of its healing properties. This gave our teachers a creative outlet and helped them grasp neurodiverse children's perspectives. These projects demonstrate our dedication to creating an atmosphere where every kid, regardless of their needs or skills, can grow and succeed.

Rehnuma Public School

The Ujala Winter Carnival welcomed students from Rehnuma Public School, resulting in a wonderful event that brought together children from many backgrounds for a day of fun, inclusivity, and awareness. The carnival, which featured a range of fascinating games, arts and crafts activities, and tasty snacks, provided a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to create lasting friendships that transcended their disparities in skills. The emotional gift exchange was the event's highlight, expressing the young people's sense of solidarity and fraternity. Ujala's goal with this carnival was to highlight the exceptional qualities and talents of children with disabilities, building a more inclusive and understanding community for all. It was a day of pleasure, laughter, and appreciation of variety.

YOGA - Member Of A Healthy Society

As a collaborative effort with Member of a Healthy Society, Ujala recently organised a rejuvenating yoga session that brought together our students, parents, and faculty for a day of holistic well-being and interaction. The event was not just about physical wellness but also a celebration of our vibrant community. Our interactive session encompassed various activities that promoted unity and well-being. From invigorating yoga practices that centred the mind and body, to the exhilaration of a spirited tug of war, and even the therapeutic power of laughter therapy, our participants experienced a diverse range of activities aimed at enhancing their physical and mental vitality. In recognition of our students' dedication and achievements, we also took the opportunity to reward them with meaningful gifts and trophies.
